This week, Kathy DeRosa, V.P. of Mission Services of Community Health Programs at St. Peter’s Health Partners presented Whitney Young Health with an award for our efforts in treating tobacco dependence and promoting smoking cessation with both our patients and employees.
During medical appointments, a member of our Nursing staff will ask a patient if they use any type of tobacco. If they do, the provider is then informed and meets with the patients to discuss the harmful effects of tobacco usage and the many ways one can quit.
