Whitney Young Health is excited to announce that Whitney on Wheels, our mobile health unit, has received a $5,000 grant from First Niagara Bank.
Whitney on Wheels operates to deliver primary health care to people who have barriers to accessing health care in traditional settings in Albany and Rensselaer counties. The mobile health unit services both children and adults and offers complete physicals, immunizations, flu shots, and illness diagnosis and treatment.
First Niagara’s support of Whitney on Wheels will fund operation at sites such as schools, homeless shelters, and public housing locations in Albany and Rensselaer counties. Our goal is to increase the number of patients seen at each event and to treat around 250 patients in a one-year period.
