You’re invited to the coolest baby shower ever!
From August 1st – 7th, organizations all over the world celebrate World Breastfeeding Week to encourage breastfeeding and to improve the health of babies around the world. This year’s theme is about how breastfeeding is a key element in getting us to think about how to value our well being from the start of life, how to respect each other and care for the world we share.
This year, WIC will be throwing a “baby shower” event on Thursday, August 4th from 9 AM – 12:30 PM. The goal of the baby shower is to provide breastfeeding mothers and their babies with necessary supplies such a breast pump, baby clothes and diapers (infant – 1 year), a rocking chair, infant toys, and baby wipes, bibs and blankets. You can also make a monetary donation of ($5 – $20).
You can bring any items donated to the WIC office at our Albany practice (920 Lark Drive) and you can address any monetary donations to the Whitney Young Health Development Office or give on-line here. We hope you’ll consider partaking in this amazing event so that our mothers and their babies can breastfeed happily. It’s also the perfect excuse to enjoy food, drinks, and some music while helping out a great cause!
