March is National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month.

The month brings together colon cancer community where thousands of patients, survivors, caregivers and advocates throughout the country join together to spread colon cancer awareness by wearing blue, holding fundraising and education events, talking to friends and family about screening and so much more. Whitney Young Health was happy to play their part in spreading awareness for this important health spotlight.

Ryan Marshall signing the “80% by 2018” pledge at the American Cancer Society Summit

Ryan Marshall, a Nurse Practitioner at our Troy Health Center, attended the American Cancer Society’s summit to promote the increase of screenings for Colorectal Cancer. Ryan signed the “80% by 2018” pledge, which aspires to bring the number of people screened for colorectal cancer up to 80% in the Capital Region by 2018.
